The Beatles Came & GIVEAWAY

Melody Miller came to town this week and I must say it exceeded all my expectations! Since I first invited her in November, I’ve been anxiously looking forward to this. She is absolutely delightful! She oozes creativity!!
I picked her up at the airport and we headed to Village Tavern (by way of Starbucks and Sew Original:). Lunch at the tavern was delicious as always! French fries were involved. We talked and talked about the fabric industry and inspiration and all sorts of things. Melody is quite witty and you know I like witty:)
Then it was off to her book signing at The Little General!

Delicious cupcakes from Tart Sweets! And Melody’s awesome book!! And bundles of MM fabric!!! Lots of fun peeps came by and a good time was had by all. Check out the coolest suitcase ever! Gina still has a couple copies of the book and a few fabric bundles left if you missed out.
Then we headed over to the guild meeting (by way of drinks at the tavern)! Melody gave a wonderful presentation on her fabric lines…past, present and future! I cannot wait for the new line!! I’m going to have Melody’s grandma on a tote;)

My quilty friend Sarah is also an AMAZING cake decorator! Look what she made for the party!! Melody called it the most amazing cake in the world. It was…we ate it;)

A couple of the girls in the guild made MM outfits!! Love it!!

And then we ate out again… at Five Points! I’ve never been more tired and I’m sure Melody felt the same way. But it was a wonderful day! And that was just day one:)
After a yummy breakfast of farm fresh eggs from Sarah (or should I say home fresh eggs?), we headed to The Little General for class! Working from her book, we made totes from vintage shirts and fabrics. Melody provided all the gorgeous linens and shirts.

  1. I love MM’s typewriter print most of all, but I also love the Itsy Bitsy Spider print. Thanks for sharing all the details of the visit – looks like a blast!

  2. I really shouldn’t enter since I was lucky enough to win a previous giveaway – so you can discount me but I wanted to say that I recently saw on flicker a whole cloth quilt with MM’s pixelated fly – and it was super cute – so I’m putting that as my favorite MM right now. And I follow you most places – but you know that ;)

  3. My favorite Melody Miller fabric is “Viewfinders”. I loved Viewmasters as a kid! Love her fabrics – thanks for the chance at her book!

  4. Andddddddd I follow you through email… and through the heart, because I’m sure we’re soul-mates… right? right? (no, I’m not paranoid about Nydia winning, what makes you think that?)

  5. Jealous I am!;)My friend just gave me four MM 1/2 yard cuts…my first…and definitely not my last!
Really, you really expect us to pick a favorite? Ummm….nope…can’t do it….so I’ll just say the typewriter keys!:)
