Thursday was the last day of the retreat:( I’ve had so much fun and met so many cool people! I wanted to share some pics of Country Traditions! This is one half of the shop.
It’s a really large shop; this is the other half! They have so many GO! dies:)
The classroom is also quite large; they actually call it a ballroom classroom.
We started the day with door prizes! I won this cuteness from Robert Kaufman:)
After a fun day of sewing, we hopped on the bus and headed to Omaha to AccuQuilt headquarters!
We ran the gauntlet and “met” all the AccuQuilt peeps!
And then I saw MY BARN QUILT for the first time!!! Woohoo!
We enjoyed a reception and some yummy Mexican food!
And we met RICKY TIMS!
And he introduced us to his exhibit!! Yep, that’s my barn quilt again;)
He took us through the exhibit talking about his evolution through quilting. This one was a real highlight. Ricky and his Dad made it together. Because I sew and quilt with the Guru, I really enjoyed listening to his process with his Dad. And that star!! Swoon.
He quilts on a domestic so he talked about how he quilts. He had an awesome “you can do it attitude”! I can’t wait to get home and get quilting!!
I’m in love with this quilting!! In. Love.
There were so many more amazing stories and ideas. If you ever have the opportunity to meet, talk to, take a class from or in any other way interact with Ricky Timms, you must do it! He was fabulous!! I will leave you with lots of eye candy and fond fond memories!!
The next installment is the barn quilt unveiling!! FINALLY!
