Friday was the BIG DAY! The barn quilt unveiling was finally upon us!
First up, the meet and greet! Ricky Tims and I chatting it up.
I asked him to sign the Designer Star pattern since my barn quilt was based on that! More details soon;)
And a picture with Gail, Ricky, me & Debbie!! I’m so happy that Gail & Debbie came on this trip! Gail rode with me across the country and we have laughed and laughed!! And Debbie has been so much fun!! I could not have had two more amazing people come!! I love you both:) I feel really lucky to have you in my life.
Then we moved to the tent. Ricky had security. Obviously.
We started out with a “lecture” from Ricky Tims!! But if you know what he’s like, I’m sure you can imagine how it was much more a storytelling festival! We laughed. We cried. He imitated carp. A good time was had by all!
Then, Steve & the Stitchers performed! Wow!! Steve is the CEO of AccuQuilt and the Stitchers are AccuQuilt folk. They were really fun!!
Ann, who works at AccuQuilt has family in Moore, Oklahoma and she organized a quilt drive!! Amazing support! Go Ann:) And prayers to everyone in Moore.
Then…time for the THE BARN QUILT!! First they presented my prizes for being second runner up and I got to speak. They asked for thirty seconds; I just tried for longer than five seconds:/
And here is Sue! THE WINNER!! Sue is talented and amazing and so much fun! She and her friend, Ginger, were just delightful all week!
And Sue with her family and friends! And THE QUILT!! That is 17′ x 17′!! It’s amazing!!!
They had a garage sale! It was crazy;) Purchases were made.
We got to tour the facility. Look at all those dies!!!
After a delicious lunch (where Gail won an OLISO IRON!), we headed to The International Center for Quilt Studies! It was way too amazing an experience to squeeze into this post, so more on that next week! This is my favorite quilt of the day though!!
We hit downtown Fremont for a fifteen minute pit stop at a great quilt exhibit before hitting the road!!
North Carolina bound!!
