I Love Teaching!

I’ve had so many great classes over the past few weeks! I started off with a private class with Jo and Shanna!! They’re so much fun:) We laughed through the Lazy Sunday. And I showed them how to chain piece; this is a life changing moment to any quilter!

I love their blocks! Jo is using Comma and Shanna is using a Riley Blake layer cake.

Next up was a trip to Linderellas! As always, a day with Linda & Carl in their beautiful shop was great fun! We are making the Stars in Your Eyes pattern from Quilting from Little Things by Sarah Fielke.

It was a great bunch of ladies! Marge really followed the edge of her diamonds and made a pocket. Everyone needs a good laugh when they’re learning Y-seams!

Here is Michelle’s beautiful star! She’s using Simply Color by V & Co. She added solids so that each star is one dominant color.

Marge & Julie, a awesome mother/daughter duo, are using bright Kaffe! They’re adding in some solids and batiks. Bright and fun!

Lynn and Jennifer also did a great job! Lynn is using Scrumptious by Bonnie & Camille. And Jennifer is using Chantilly. Photobomb by Jessica.

Jessica is making hers with her stash. It’s going to be gorgeous!! The perfect pattern for patriotic stars.

Then I was off to Papanana’s for a paper piecing class!

We had a good time! We used the Lone Starburst pattern which is free on Craftsy from Six White Horses.

We talked about lots of different useful tools for paper piecing. My favorites are add-a-quarter and Aurifil thread!

I somehow didn’t take pictures of everyone and their projects! This is Kellee’s that she put on Instagram! Sorry I didn’t get to show your projects Tammy, Connie & Kendra.

Then I headed to Sewingly Yours for a make up class. Baleka & Gayle have been friends for years and they’re delightful! We missed Denise though!! All this bad weather really has make up classes all over the place.

They’re both using Scrumptious by Bonnie & Camille. They’re doing great!!

Back to Papanana’s for another Lazy Sunday class! First up, lots of cutting! Another great group!

And ironing!

Tiana is using some Riley Blake prints! Love her fabric!!

Julie is using batiks! She’s a newer quilter and doing a great job!

And Jill is making something special for her Mom! I always love having Jill in class.

And finally! Today was session one of Scrappy Stars at Sew Original. This is the pattern by Sarah Fielke. Shirley is making a quilt for her grandson. She’s using Sphere by Zen Chic, which I love!! I had to resist the layer cake…for now!

Gail is a repeat offender and rejoining this class to finish up her quilt! It’s beautiful!! She is doing all matching stars.

And Denise!! She went incognito for her picture. She’s using Denyse Schmidt Florence. I’ve never met a Denyse Schmidt print that I didn’t love!! Her star is awesome!

I’m making mine with Chicopee! More Denyse Schmidt love!!

This week is also packed with classes; I’ll be back with more!

  1. You are, indeed, your Mother’s daughter! I’m not surprised you love teaching; you are a natural! Love seeing the results of your instruction and direction.

  2. It looks like everyone is having so much fun in your classes! I would love to take a Lazy Sunday class. I live in Asheville so it would only take about two hours to get to the Winston-Salem area. Are any Friday or Saturday classes on your schedule this spring?
