Terrific Tool Thursday: The Purple Thang

This week’s tool is an oldie but goodie! It’s the purple thang which is essentially this little piece of plastic that you can use for any number of things. It pokes corners. It holds fabric while you sew without pens. It turns dresdens quite well. There are many more; those are just my favorites.

It’s really sturdy and just a bit bendy. I love the square end on dresden points! There’s even a hole to use it for turning right side out. I have a couple of these because I use them all the time. There’s one in each of my sewing bags.

    • You can thread a ribbon through it to feed ribbon through for a drawstring bag or tuck an end of a tube that you’re turning right side out. I’m sure there are even more uses that I’ve not thought of!
