Terrific Tool Thursday: Mini Ruler

I am an owner of many rulers, mostly Creative Grids. My “go-to” is the 6 1/2 x 12 1/2″, but today I’m sharing its little baby. It’s 6 1/2 x 2 1/2″. You’ve probably seen it in shops with a custom logo.

I use it when I’m working on binding, to cut HSTs apart or for a quickmeasurement. I have one stashed on every sewing pouch! I love that Creative Grids don’t slip and have both 1/2″ and full inch marked prominently.

  1. I don’t think I’ve tried these yet. I have rulers that do slip and I’ve put the round, non-stick pads on them. They seem to rub off after a while. What is on the bottom of these rulers that make them no-slip rulers? This post may be the answer to my issues with my rulers. I appreciate the post.

  2. I’m going to buy two and see. I noticed they are more expensive in the U.S. than buying them from them in the UK. Where did you purchase yours? Thanks so much. This will most likely be the answer to my problems of ruler slippage.
