Terrific Tool Thursday: Cut ‘n Press

Today’s tool is pretty basic, but I use it every single day! It’s the Cut ‘n Press from June Tailor. It’s perfect for taking to class and on retreat. It’s a cutting board on one side and a pressing board on the other.

I use the pressing side at home because it’s such a great surface. It’s a bit harder than my regular ironing board.

I have both the 10″ square and the 12 x 18″. Well, technically I have three of the 12 x 18″ size. Seriously, I use them all the time.

Tonight is my Market Preview Party at Village Fabric Shop! If you’re local, come by 5-7 pm!

Terrific Tool Thursday: The Purple Thang

This week’s tool is an oldie but goodie! It’s the purple thang which is essentially this little piece of plastic that you can use for any number of things. It pokes corners. It holds fabric while you sew without pens. It turns dresdens quite well. There are many more; those are just my favorites.

It’s really sturdy and just a bit bendy. I love the square end on dresden points! There’s even a hole to use it for turning right side out. I have a couple of these because I use them all the time. There’s one in each of my sewing bags.
