Georgia's Bright Eyes

I haven't posted a finish in a while, so I'm going to start with this stunner. I really enjoy making a dresden and I had not visited my old friend Georgia in a hot minute, so it was time. When I saw the stunning fabric Bright Eyes from Anna Maria Horner for FreeSpirit, I knew it would be a perfect fit.

I used Wonderfil Invisifil for the appliqié. I love that this thread melts into the fabric. It looks hand stitched but I can use the machine.

I decided to also use this thread for the quilting. This is the largest quilt I've used it on for quilting. The texture is fantastic.

There are so many gorgeous prints in this line. The dresdens create interesting designs by cutting into the large scale prints. I fussy cut the binding to create a stripe from one of the prints.

This is the print I cut the binding from. I centered the circle in each of my strips.

Georgia's usually has a scrappy background, but I used two prints from the collection in a checkerboard design to ground all the other prints.
