Terrific Tip Tuesday: Ruler Ridge

Today's tip is for half square triangle trimming. While I love a good specialty tool for trimming, sometimes you don't have the right one or, and this is most likely in my case, you don't have the right one with you! Use washi tape or a similar low tack tape to create a ridge. By stacking multiple layers of tape on top of itself, you can create enough of an edge for the seam allowance of your HST to rest against.

Place the tape along the 45° line on the back of your ruler.

This will keep everything in place as you trim your HST to size. You'll be able to trim faster because the ruler slides right into place.
